Meet Cabana Babe Abby!

By Anna Finch

Meet Cabana Babe Abby!
Shoe expert and fashionista Abby joins us today to answer a bunch of fun questions about life, confidence, and her favorite swimmies! Check out her answers below and then hop on over to Sea Salt & Stilettos to find your next pair of lust-worthy heels!
What's your favorite style of swimsuit and what is your favorite Cabana Anna design?
I love bandeaus paired with a great cheeky bottom - I always feel the most comfortable in that style!  The open back Apia one-piece is my favorite Cabana Anna design because the gathered "knot" in the front near the stomach is slimming and the multi-way tie fits any size bust! I got mine in Coastal turquoise of course :)

What's your favorite beach in the world (that you’ve been to)?

Definitely Olbia in Sardinia, Italy! There are seashells everywhere and the water is so clear you can see down to your toes even when you're in up to your hips. It's literally crystal clear. Did I mention it's a nude beach? 😉

That's too funny! Besides lounging in the nude, what's your next favorite beach activity?

I got into surfing this year, which has become my new favorite beach activity. I can even surf in my Apia one piece - it laces up and stays on so well - but look extra cute while doing it!

What are your must-have beauty items on the beach?

I always bring coconut oil for my skin and lemon juice for my hair - gets me bronze and blonde!

Love those all-natural beauty tips - they're definitely working! If you could travel to one place you’ve NEVER been, where would it be?

I've heard that Greece has the best beaches in the world.

Here at Cabana Anna, we're all about female empowerment, body positivity, and loving yourself! When do you  feel your most confident and what do you love most about your body?

I feel the most confident when I'm in heels. I swear it has a mental effect on my attitude and vibe, which is why I got into blogging about it - shoes have always been my passion. I like my legs the most because I love to run and I feel like they're the strongest part of my body.

What were your goals for 2016 and how did you pursue them?

I started a new job in the new year, so my biggest goal was to just take on the challenge of a newer, more difficult position, do the best I can and hopefully come out on top with a good review at the end of my first year. I have also wanted to start my own blog for a long time where can I write about shoes, traveling and home decor. Lastly, my third goal was to go to Thailand in 2016, it's been a dream trip of mine for a long time.

I have pursued my goals by learning to stop feeling sorry for myself for having to work hard and to give my job 110%. I also stopped making excuses for not having enough time and recently launched my own blog. And lastly, I made a shot gun decision and bought a ticket to Thailand in December. The biggest thing I've learned this year is that if you want something, you have to make it happen for yourself - no one is going to hand you anything and it won't happen over night by itself.

Meet Cabana Babe Bonnie!

Meet Cabana Babe Bonnie!

Bonnie is Taylor Swift meets Marilyn Monroe with an extra helping of sunshine and infectious energy. Originally hailing from Jonesboro, Arkansas, this beauty travelled all the way to LA to chase her dreams of becoming an actress and a model! After a gorgeous day on Venice beach shooting with Bonnie and photographer Dale Benfield, we sat down to learn a little bit more about this bombshell – from fashion to self-confidence to inspiration, here’s what makes this LA style blogger’s world go round:

First things first! We’re water babies at Cabana Anna Swimwear and we want to know what your favorite beach in the world is.

My favorite beach is Destin, Florida. It's the first beach I've ever been to and I have great memories growing up on that beach!

When you’re at the beach, how do you do your VERY best relaxing and unwinding?

I’ll be stretched out on a beach chair with my toes in the sand, sharing a drink and some laughs with my girlfriends!

What are your must-haves for the beach ?

When I’m on the beach, I love to have a magazine, a cute beach bag (my fave is by Valerie Rene), and Maybelline Babylips Balm with SPF!

If you could travel to one place you’ve never been, where would it be?

We love Hawaii! Maui would have to be our favorite island. What kind of swimsuit would we find you in the minute you land in Hawaii?

I love a bandeau bikini top. It's a natural fit, comfy, and you can add straps to change the look up! You can go from the beach to the hills and convert a bandeau easily into a sports bra when you’re on vacation. My fave Cabana Anna swimsuit would have to be the Hermosa bow top bandeau in hot pink!

What do you love most about your body and why?

I wouldn't say there's one particular thing I love most about my body, but if I had to choose, probably my height!  I’m 5’ 10”. But when it comes to swim suits I love that my boobs aren't too big lol. I think it’d be more difficult finding the right fit or wearing bandeaus if they were! I'm also a fan of my freckles ;)

What makes you feel your most confident?

When my lashes look on point and I have lipstick on! My favorites are "they’re real!" by Benefit and NYX "Shocking Pink" lipstick!

What were your goals for 2016 and how have you pursued them?

My goals for 2016 were to not hold grudges, to be quick to forgive, and to follow my dreams. I've done that by being bold in all of my decisions, including moving to LA from my home state of Arkansas!

Why did you move out to LA?

To pursue acting and modeling, to meet people, and to explore more opportunities!

What's been the most exciting thing about moving to LA?

So far it's been meeting people from all over the world through my acting program and getting to model for Cabana Anna Swimwear!

What are some of your favorite LA haunts that you've recently discovered and would recommend to our readers?

You've got to go to Mauro's Cafe at Fred Segal and get the Fred's Pasta. You've got to hike to the Hollywood sign, it's surreal. And you've got to go to Jessica Biel's Au Fudge to hit up this fun, yummy brunch spot, then spend a day in Malibu with your besties soaking up the sun.

Who is your biggest inspiration?

Sarah Jessica Parker.

She's definitely my fashion icon since she can put anything on and rock it, and she inspires me because she has the confidence and personality that, to me, make her feel genuine and relatable in a way other actresses do not.

My Granddaddy would be my other inspiration :)

He's always been a constant source of strength in my life. Loving me no matter what and always there to give me a hug. He has set such a great example for countless people through loving his family, and having a gracious, loyal heart.

Beach Waves Like Rocky. Fricking. Barnes.

By Anna Finch

Beach Waves Like Rocky. Fricking. Barnes.

Rocky. Fricking. Barnes. She's hot, she's stylish, she has fantastic hair. Nothing says effortlessly sexy like the bikini babe beach waves she rocks at almost every photo shoot. Her tousled "I woke up like this" look is the perfect mix of girly and bad ass. And since it isn't super put-together, you're still totally free to hang out at the beach without feeling guilty about the effort you put into your hair.

((One of the great things about this look is that your hair doesn't necessarily have to be "clean"- the texture sticks to itself better with dirty hair. However, you can always spray on some dry shampoo if it makes you feel better!))
Here are 5 seriously easy steps to getting perfect beach waves:
1. Whether your hair is clean or not, start out by spraying your whole head with texturizing sea spray. This will help give you volume and make your curls stick together.
2. Split your hair into sections with hair ties or bobby pins. The bigger the section, the looser the wave (and vice versa).
3. Loosely curl your hair with a wide barrel curler. We recommend at least a 1" barrel so your curls don't come out to tight! Don't worry about your curls falling, that works for this look!
4. Flip your hair over and apply hair spray all over to keep your hair intact and style with your fingers to perfect the look.
5. Step out into the world looking totally fab!!
See, I told you it was easy (;

Spice Up Your LA Summer! Cabana Anna’s Guide to a Great Summer

By Anna Finch

It’s that time of year again: summer. The time of year that we all make plans with our friends to go on crazy trips, spend every day at the beach, or just get out of the house to do fun things. But let’s be real, it can be easy to fall into a ‘schedule’ consisting of binge watching Netflix and eating everything in the fridge. Without a game plan, there’s a good chance the majority of summer could be spent lying in bed or on the couch. Don’t worry, we’re the same way too. This summer, let’s change that! Here are some of our favorite fun things to do this summer in Southern California.
Looking to do something adventurous? Get a couple friends together, lace up your hiking shoes, pack your favorite bathing suits (Cabana Anna, of course), and head out to Malibu Creek State Park. If you’re adventurous and unafraid of heights, then this is the perfect thing to do on a hot summer day! Only a short hike on the trail will lead you to a C-shaped gorge that’s MADE for cliff jumping. A little bit of rock climbing is involved in order to get up high enough to jump. Once you climb up on the rocks, take a deep breath, and take the plunge! Make sure to have a friend take a picture for Instagram or even a video (just to prove that you did it).
Want to get the most out of your beach day? Plan a trip to Laguna and swing by 1000 Steps Beach. Navigate your way to the beach while drinking in that incredible view. Once you get to the beach, you can lay out to tan, go surfing, play volleyball, or explore. If you go during low tide, you can climb the rocks to get to the natural pools. It’s a trek to get to the beach and pools, but definitely worth every minute to see the waves crashing on the rocks and the clear, blue water! Then, after spending time at the beach, you’ll get a great leg workout climbing up those steps ;) Your summer bod will look better than ever!
If you’re not doing anything between July 25 and August 2, you’re in luck. The U.S. Surf Open is held in Huntington Beach each year and it’s sure to be a blast! This event is the largest surf competition in the world and tons of Southern Californians attend each year. If you’re not into surfing, there are other events going on in the area simultaneously. The U.S. Surf Open has live music, other competitions, fashion shows, and much more. It is one of the biggest events of the year in Southern California and definitely something that you shouldn’t miss. Maybe you’ll even find some hot surfer boys to hang out with!
Ok, a lot of these activities take some pre-planning. If you’re looking for something to do last minute with a couple of friends there are so many other excellent options – LA is always on the go and many of the best things are cheap or free. You can go paddle boarding in Marina del Rey, the perfect way to get some sun on the water while exploring. Another great activity is biking or rollerblading in Manhattan Beach. There’s a bike trail that takes you right along the beach. Feeling a little bit more adventurous? Go parasailing in Marina del Rey. You’ll get to see all of Los Angeles from above and maybe even get dipped in the water!
Make this summer in LA one for the books J check back here weekly for updates and even more fun activities!
